The waters of Old Hickory Lake begin about 25 miles upstream of Nashville, Tennessee. The first thirty miles of shoreline is heavily populated with numerous marinas, public ramps, and private boat docks. The remaining 57 miles are a different story. There are no Marinas above Mile 240, Cherokee Boat Dock. The prudent voyager should stick close to the sailing line in all parts of Old Hickory Lake, including the marina entrances.
