Old Hickory Lake, Cumberland River
Goose Creek Access Area, mile 280.1R
At CRM 280.1, take Big Goose Creek upstream another 2.5 miles and the ramp is on your right. Big Goose Creek is about 3 feet deep at the ramp. It can be navigated upstream for about another 1/2 mile before you will bottom out, under outboard power. In the spring of the year, bait shad can be collected at this spot. About half way to the Cumberland, on your left ascending creek bank, is Little Goose Creek's mouth. It is about 20 feet deep here, and a good fishing hole.
The single lane ramp is in good condition, and is used a lot. There are no facilities there, and only parking for about 5 vehicles and trailers. After going through Hartsville, TN towards Carthage, TN on Hwy 25, turn right on Sam Beasley Road, which is just past a small motel and liquor store on the right. Go about 2 miles and the ramp is on your left after you cross the creek. Ramp is about 16 feet wide with a slope of 10 °. There is no dock.
